The Springfield (OH) and Wilberforce (OH) Chapters of The Links, Incorporated, are committed to increasing awareness of health issues that impact our communities. One such issue is chronic kidney disease. Join us at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 W. Pleasant St, Springfield, OH, from 10 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. for valuable information about kidney disease from Dr. Christopher Brown, a Nephrologist and Dr. Surender Neravetla, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Mr. Leonard Carney, a special guest who is a kidney transplant recipient, will discuss his experience—additionally, Miss. Cynthia Applin, a dietitian, will teach us how to read food labels and perform a brief cooking demonstration. Mercy Health’s Mobile Mammography Coach will be on-site to provide screenings; however, one must call Mercy directly at 937-523-9332 for an appointment. After the program and free lunch, numerous vendors will be available to provide screenings and/or information regarding their organizations and/or services. Registration is required for the free lunch.
